It has been announced that the proposed ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles in the UK won’t include hybrids, which is a step in the right direction at least. It does show that there is confusion somewhere along the line between what an electric car is and what an electrified car is. Interestingly this also means that you’ll be able to purchase the 2040 equivalent of the Ferrari LaFerrari/Porsche 918/Mclaren P1 but you won’t be able to purchase a frugal 1.0l city car with low emissions. Sounds sensible. Obviously there is still a lot of work to be done along the way but its a good sign at least. Perhaps all of the petrolheads in the UK can club together and come up with some green ideas for other industries to save some more of our car culture via lessened restrictions.
