Lotus holds a special place in my heart and they would always make up a part of my ideal garage. I drove an elan +2S a year or two back and I absolutely loved it, they’re fantastic little cars and it was a real thrill to drive. This +2 has a special history however, as the first owner appears to be the great Colin Chapman himself. Chapman is still a legend in the automotive world for his motto of ‘add lightness’. This car does look to need some restorative works but apparently started and ran well when taken out of long term storage. Personally I tend not to favour two tone paint schemes on these but I would happily accept this one with that history (I wonder what else could be dug up). The current bid is £7,100 and the reserve isn’t met and I wouldn’t be surprised if this car topped £10k.
