The BMW E30 is iconic for its M3 variant and its successes in motorsport, however I’ve heard more than a few people saying going things about the 318is, as a low powered but fun to drive variant. The seller has owned the car for two to three years and has done around 5 miles in that time, with the car being a project that they just haven’t had time to complete. In the photos there are a number of other E30s so you would hope the owner knows what they’re talking about when saying the car is a solid example that hasn’t suffered in all the usual areas, though they do note that there is rust to the N/S/R arch. The car has suffered from hail stone damage to the roof and boot but apparently the dent doctor could make short work of those. The car has just been serviced but there is caution that there could be some engine work needed as there is a slight rattle and a couple of other minor issues. The interior looks to be in good condition with no rips and minor wear, which is impressive for a 165,000 mile car thats had 11 owners. Not mentioned is whether the car comes with any history or original books, which is of course crucial to the car’s value. Bidding ends soon with a current bid of just over £3,400.

A pre-HE Jaguar XJ-S is a lovely thing, and this one certainly could be with a lot of love (and bodywork!). With a current bid price of £1,550 this is a bit of a bargain considering it does run and drive (though the owner notes that the gearbox was sluggish when he last drove it). Its had two owners in the past 20 years and has just 83,000 miles on the clock, which is barely run in for one of these V12s. The car comes with its original cassette radio and Kent alloys, and had a few repairs during its time with the previous owner that include a new offside floor, offside outer sill and other repairs (mostly to the offside along the entire length for some reason). The car also comes with history and some period documentation which is very nice to have when it comes to resale.

Personally if I was taking on the project I would be seeing if the gearbox was worth sorting or just replacing, and then I might consider doing a manual conversion (which can really be transformative for an XJ-S). I’m curious to see how much this car sells for.

Please note that its important to view any car you’re interested in purchasing but the description on this one seems to be mixed up since the photos of the offside of the car have a fair bit of rot in them and there is only a limited amount of photos total.

This bruiser caught my eye very easily, I’ve got a soft spot for Galaxies and this is a real beauty, not to mention it has the ideal spec and condition. 1963 and a half with a 7.0 litre V8 attached to a manual gearbox and a switchable exhaust, this is the kind of car you feel in your chest as well as hear it. Its been built in recent years and it looks like someone has sunk a huge amount of time and money into this project. The car also has a great write up which explains exactly how the car was built and how it came from the factory too, and even better than that is that there is a couple of videos (which show the switchable exhaust brilliantly too). The buy it now price of just under £28,000 doesn’t seem at all unreasonable to me, for a car of this quality and specification you could easily pay a lot more (especially if you try and build it yourself!). Well worth looking at but you might have to try and get there before me…..

Porsche prices seem to have dropped of late (at least for SCs and 3.2 Carreras), and that means there are some bargains to be had for anyone who is interested in looking. It also seems that plenty of 911 sellers had planned for their car to be a ‘keeper’ but are selling it because of unexpected circumstances. This little SC looks to be in quite tidy condition and well loved, with a nice colour really helping it to look quite special. The pascha seats aren’t to everyone’s taste but they’re a cool period feature and can sometimes benefit from a deep clean to really bring them back to their best. The car’s history folder shows no signs of past engine work though there is invoices for a ‘minor’ gearbox rebuild, so the car is in good driving condition. Its recently been fitted with a new exhaust and upgraded silencer that apparently grumbles nicely with a few pops and bangs when pressed. The owner notes a couple of small points of rust in a couple of areas but nothing too troubling, and the new MOT with no advisories seems to confirm that – with the owner also noting that there seems to be no signs of welding to the underside. The car has a starting bid of £25,000 (reserve not met) and no bids on it either, which almost seems surprising. Maybe someone is in for a bargain…

Now on the surface of it this Mercedes doesn’t look like a cool eBay find, its very scruffy, a bit rusty and needs some paintwork done too. That said, it is a 560 SEC and those are getting very hard to find now, you’ll be waiting a while to find one. This one looks overpriced at £7,000 but it has been listed for a while so there is probably the potential for negotiation by now. The listing also states that the owner has a large collection of classic cars, makes me wonder what other interesting cars they have stashed away..

I’m a fan of VW Beetles, so long as they’re done in the correct way, and this one certainly looks to be. Its a 1600 engine but with a turbo added on for a very pleasant power hike. Apparently it has a basic form of water injection which certainly isn’t something you see everywhere! I think the colour suits it personally and the ride height is also adjustable too to complete the look. The driver’s seat is ripped but a fairly easy fix, and there are a few other small issues as with any classic cars. The auction has a starting bid of £6,000 with no bids, so perhaps there is a chance for a bargain after the auction has ended.

I do love a fast Ford, and recently I’ve had a hankering for a mk1 Escort, but finished in the right way. This little RS2000 replica popped up on eBay a couple of days ago and as you can see from the bidding I’m not the only one who is a big fan of it. Bidding currently stands at over £20,000 with over 5 days to go. This replica looks like it was built from a nice car too as it doesn’t appear the mounts have been plated as is common with these. The Zetec engine fitted may not be to everyone’s taste but I think its a great choice and looks to suit the car well also. The five speed box and LSD should also provide some entertainment for whoever manages to buy it. I look forward to seeing how much this actually does make in the end though.
