I think the Aston Martin V8 Vantage sounds pretty great when stock, but this Quicksilver exhaust upgrade sounds pretty fantastic too.
Very few cars have the timeless prettiness of the Alfa Romeo 105, and it can be argued that brand specialist Alfaholics have improved upon the aesthetics of this car as well as the mechanicals. Continue reading “Auction Spot #60: 1967 Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV Competizione”
The Land Rover Defender is an icon in the car world, and they can be very effective at the job they were built to do. Sometimes though, people wish they were a bit faster and do something like the owner of this car has and put a big V8 in the place of the 2.2 diesel it came with. Not only does it make an awesome noise but it also looks pretty quick!
This super cool modified Porsche 911 3.0 RS homage has been on my watchlist from the moment it was listed, and I even had a little bid on it when it was much, much cheaper. Continue reading “Cool eBay Find #156: 1972 Porsche 911 3.0 RS Homage”
A couple of years ago at a H&H auction on the 24th February at Donington Park there was a very modified Hillman Imp that I really loved and bid on but eventually lost out on (though I practically had it at a couple of points which was annoying). This one appears to be in pretty good condition and the description agrees with that, saying that the mechanicals are very solid but there is some tidying that could be done. The car has done very little mileage in recent decades and should be used more, perhaps while being modified at the same time, which would be great fun to my mind. It’s currently bid up to £2000 though the reserve isn’t met, you could create a real little pocket rocket out of this car.
The Porsche 944 Turbo is a favourite of mine, and I’ve posted a couple of them on this page. This one is black with a cream interior, which isn’t my favourite of all colour combinations (Guards Red with a black interior in case you were wondering), but it does look good here, even if the front seats do look a little tired. Sometimes buying a LHD car can make for a cheaper alternative or allow you to buy a better car than a RHD version for the same price, which is what I reckon is happening with this MK2 Escort. It’s an X-PAC car and really looks the part, with a good retro fast Ford vibe. It’s fitted with a 1760cc Kent engine with twin Dellorto carbs, along with a few other choice modifications I gather. It’s only listed for £13,000 too, probably with room for negotiation. It’s UK registered and it may well be a bargain for one Ford fan.
